Born a son of music, Lendell grew up in a musical family and became heavily influenced by the likes of Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Ronald Isley and Michael Jackson, just to name a few. At an early age, Lendell knew he wanted to sing and began experimenting
with the use of words and rhymes which eventually lead to him
becoming a songwriter. He soon took his originals to the stage, performing at local Chicago venues.
In his mid teens, Lendell participated in many music competitions including the Fox News' Chicago Idol Contest, as well as The Chicago Music Awards where he won ‘Most Talented Teen’ both in 2005 & 2007. As Lendell’s music began to emerge, he garned the attention of WGCI's Program Director, Elroy Smith which led to him performing at the radio station's music seminar. As a songwriter, Lendell was featured on KMOX CBS News, (St. Louis) and was recognized as the Midwest semi-finalist in the Disk Makers Independent Music World Series Contest.
In 2018, Lendell took a few years off from pursuing music due to his parents health challenges and focused more on song writing. Now after writing numerous songs and working with extraordinary producers, Lendell is back, prime and ready to make his mark bringing the spotlight back on R&B music.
